Toughest run in history. It was so windy, it felt like we were running backwards and I felt myself being lifted off the beach on more than one occasion. We spent a lot of time trying to escape the incoming tide and retreating to the dunes due to the lack of beach to run on. Hard work running amongst all the washed up debris - luckily we wore our Vibram FiveFingers shoes. All up 8.27km in 60:30. That is pretty bloody slow for us (about 2 mins per km slower than in good weather) but moving forward was close to impossible. We were the only people on that beach. Even the kite surfers stayed in.
agreed. awful.
